Merry CHRISTmas!!!!!

Well, I can't believe my two day weekend is over. Although I am exhausted, I am very grateful that I had the time off to spend with my family. The weekend was extra special because Uncle Montrell was here and he bought Christmas gifts for the family.

Yesterday we baked cookies, put food out for the reindeer and read Twas the Night before Christmas and the birth of Jesus from Luke.

Today we got up and opened gifts, went to church and just hung out around the house. What an awesome day!!!!!

Father Daughter Dance

Well this weekend was the Father Daughter dance and Elijah and Alyssa went and had a blast. I am serious when I tell you guys that this girl does not belong to me. First of all I was telling her that the dance had a Paris theme and she starts screaming. She says, "Mom, are you serious?? You have to be kidding me!! Really Mom, Paris". She actually thought they were going to Paris for the dance. Earlier this week I purchased her dress, so of course I had her try it on. She loved it, but quickly replied, "I wish I had some diamonds to wear with this". She is really too much. You just have to love her.

Well Elijah said that she had a good time. His exact words were "the girl likes to party". He said that she stayed on the dance floor. She made up routines for them and everything. He said that there was even a moment when she told him she would be right back because she wanted to hang out with her friends. She reminds me of Elijah so much. When I first met him he used to be the life of the party. He stayed on the dance floor. Of course, Elijah has slowed down a LOT. So much that my friends and I secretly call him Poppa Smurf (lol). So, I guess she gets her partying honestly.

Well, I guess this will be an annual date night for Alyssa and Elijah because Alyssa was making plans for next year's dance on the way home.

Daniel's Birthday Weekend

I can't believe my 3 day weekend is over. We had a blast. We did the family 1 mile Rudolph Run on Saturday morning and then we had breakfast with Santa. If you look closely at the picture you will see that Daniel brought his Toys R Us book so Santa would get his order right (lol). After the run Daniel put some finishing touches on his Christmas tree in his room.

We went to church on Sunday and then we had Daniel's party later that evening. He was soo excited about his party. It was all about him and he knew it. He enjoyed all of his friends and of course the gifts that they brought. A special thanks to Amenze & Nate, Danielle, LaToya & Richard, and Andrea & Sam for bringing their kids to Chuck E Cheese on a very cold wet Sunday evening. Daniel ended his day by calling both his grandparents and telling them about his special day.

November

Sorry I am a few days late with this post. But here are the November highlights. Uncle Montrell came to town to see Daniel play his last soccer game. Daniel was so excited that he scored a goal for the other team (lol). After the game the team went out for pizza and they all received trophies.

Alyssa had her Thanksgiving feast at school. I was really bummed because I missed it. Unfortunately I had to work, but Elijah came to the rescue by scheduling his lunch break around the feast. I am a little jealous that he was able to go instead of me. Lesson learned though, I am totally requesting off the Friday before Thanksgiving break next year. :-)

Elijah and I also had a date night compliments of the Pediatrix NICU group. Every year in November they have a casino night for the staff. We usually go and have a good time. Drinks, dancing, food and friends all FREE. We only had to pay the sitter. We had a good time. We also realized that we definitely need to get out more.

We also went to the Lighting of the Christmas tree and Christmas parade in our city. And the most important thing that we did was take our photos for our Christmas cards (thanks Mandy Lilly Photography). November was such a blur because it went by so fast. Thanks again for reading the blog and stay tuned for Daniel's birthday party blog. :-)
