Alyssa's lost her 1st tooth

On Sunday Alyssa lost her first tooth. She was so excited. She called both Granny Mary and Granny Maxine and her Great Granny to share the news. Last night she went to bed and placed her lucky tooth under the pillow. We left our front light on so that the tooth fairy could find our house (per Alyssa's request). This morning she was ecstatic when she found two dollar bills under her pillow. She was excited about going to school today because she knew that her name would finally go on the Kindergartner's lost tooth board.

Alyssa's 1st day of Kindergarten

Well, the first day of school has come and gone and all is well. Alyssa was such a big girl. She didn't even cry. I teared up walking her to class and her little brother had an emotional breakdown when he realized he had to go to daycare alone. She said that she felt special because Mom, Dad and Daniel took her to school and picked her up from school. Well, it is official. My baby is no longer a baby. She is officially my big school girl. I pray that she has a wonderful and memorable experience this school year.
Since we made a big deal about Alyssa's first day of kindergarten we decided to make a big deal about Daniel going to is new class in daycare. We bought him a new bookbag and a couple of school supplies to take to school today. Despite all of our efforts he was just not a happy little boy today. He was so distraught about his sister being away from him. Today we started a new chapter in our lives and despite Daniel being a tad bit emotional I think it went well. :-)

Alyssa's Surprise Back to School Party/Fun day

Alyssa is starting kindergarten next week and it is a little bitter sweet for me. I am happy for her because she is so excited about starting "BIG KIDS" school, but I am a little sad because that means no more Mommy and Me days for Alyssa during the week. I have expressed my feelings to my child and she hugs me and says, "Mommy you are a big girl, you will be fine when I start school".
Well, since I have so much nervous/anxious energy regarding the first day of Kindergarten I decided to give Alyssa a surprise back to school party. Alyssa woke up to a decorated dining room and her favorite donuts and chocolate milk. My child is very animated like me, so when she walked downstairs she started screaming and saying "THANK YOU MOMMY, YOU ARE SO SWEET". After eating donuts we went to our school's back to school parade in our neighborhood. After the parade she had a hair appointment and then we had lunch. We took an afternoon nap and then we went to take back to school cupcakes and balloons to Jonathan and Nia (LaToya's kiddos). We ended our day at our new elementary school for Meet the Teacher. Today was such an awesome day. Alyssa really had a good time. She was really appreciative and grateful for everything. She told me that she wishes today would never end because she has had so much fun. :-) Thanks for reading my blog and see you next week when I post first day of school pictures.
