Happy Fall Y'all

I love the FALL!!!! It's my favorite season of all.  I am just beginning to put up my harvest/fall decorations. Time seems to be passing so quickly. My last blog was the beginning of summer.
So much has happened since then.  So let me see if I can catch you up really quick.

Last weekend we celebrated Alyssa's 8th birthday.  She had a night owl slumber party.  I put my crafty hat on and made owl pillows and t-shirts for the girls. It was so much fun.  They did a craft project, watched a movie, had a style show and danced the night away.  Alyssa really seemed to have enjoyed herself.

In August we celebrated Elijah's birthday by going to his favorite steak restaurant. I was really tired the week of his birthday and wanted to buy him a cake, but my sweet Daniel said "it will be more special if we make Dad a cake". After we finished the cake he looked at me and said, "See mom,  this cake is special and cheap because we had all the ingredients here".  I think he inherited Wesley Daniel's frugal gene.  haha

The kids transitioned to 1st and 2nd grade well.  Our school had its annual back to school parade and meet the teacher  Thursday before school started.  Their first day of school  was good.  I worked so  Elijah took them to school, took pictures and text them to me so that I wouldn't feel left out.

Things so far are going fairly well with both kids.  Alyssa is having some issues with math.  They had  a timed 2 minute pretest with 32 problems on Monday.  She only answered 16 out of the 32.  So we have been doing lots of  2 minute math drills.  Today she completed 30 out of 32.  I am pretty confident she'll do well on her real test Friday.  I want to say thanks to Granny Maxine for the math workbook.  It is really coming in handy.
Daniel is still in speech this year.  If he takes his time he articulates his s,v,z and f words well.  But if he is passionate or excited about something he seems to forget all of the things Ms West has taught him.  It's just the beginning of the year I am sure both kids will do just fine this year as long as Elijah and I do our part.

Wednesday is still our busy day this year.  I pick the kids up from school, feed them a snack, head to jazz class, come home and do homework and then head to AWANA.  Daniel told me that he likes AWANA but he only wants to go every other week because "I basically have no t.v. time on Wednesday and besides I already know about God, I pray daily and have Him in my heart". That boy, I don't know what I am going to do with him.

Elijah has a new past time.  He likes to compete in mud runs.  He wants me to do one with him. He claims that it will be fun.  Needless to say, I will NOT be signing up for a mud run anytime soon.  A 5k obstacle course in the mud just doesn't seem fun to me.

This summer we took a trip to San Antonio with my family. Here are a few photo highlights from our trip.

I FINALLY had lunch with the kids at school yesterday. They were so excited to see me.  It's the little things that mean a lot to them. I got quite a few brownie points because I brought them homemade chocolate chip cookies fresh from the oven.

Oh well, I guess I have caught you guys up on everything.  Love y'all   xoxoxoxo

Let the summer fun begin.  So happy to settle down and relax a little after such a busy spring.  Thanks for visiting our blog and enjoy our family pictures.

I found this beautiful field of sunflowers on Father's day. This totally makes up for me not getting Texas Bluebonnet pictures this spring.  I am one happy Momma :-)

On Father's day we went to the 8 am service and then we came home to nap before heading to lunch at Rockfish.  The kids wrote Elijah letters and poems and read them to him.  It was quite touching.  Daniel asked if he could say grace over our lunch and he thanked God for his Dad and he prayed that his Dad would enjoy his special day. It was a very moving prayer. The kids really love their dad.  We are very blessed to have Elijah in our lives.  He is a keeper.

Our little ballerina had her dance recital.  She loves the spotlight.  A special thanks to Uncle Montrell, Ashlee, Auntie Danielle, Reagan, Rylie and Ryan for coming to the recital.

Daniel had a serious growth spurt this school year.

I guess this is her signature pose.

Every spring I claim that I won't sign the kids up for Awana the following year because it is such a commitment, but it is so rewarding to see our kids grow spiritually in the Lord. I am very grateful for those that volunteer their time with this ministry.  Both kids received their Book Award and Daniel received the Merit Reward.  I am one proud Momma

A special thanks to my mother in law for watching the kids Memorial Day weekend. As you can see our lives are revolved around Alyssa and Daniel. We both realize that we are great parents, but some days we suck at being husband and wife.  It was really nice to have some time to ourselves to reconnect with each other.

I'm Back!

Wow, I can't believe my last post was 4 months ago.  Time is just flying by.  All is well in the Williams household.  Our life is centered around Alyssa and Daniel.  I must say that they are quite entertaining.  For example, Alyssa and I are in the bathroom getting ready a couple of weeks ago and she is in the mirror primping.  She stops and looks at me and says, "You know Mom, some people say they have a bad side, but I don't.  I have two good sides." As you can see, she is not lacking self confidence.

Please enjoy our pics  :-)

Daniel was a shooting Star for the month of January.  The core essential for the month was compassion.

Alyssa was the Shooting Star for the month of March and the core essential was Peace.

Dad was out of town for Valentine's Day so I surprised the kids with a special breakfast and dinner

Open house at school.  The kids showed off all their work.
