Daniel was soo excited about his 4th birthday. He has been talking about it since Thanksgiving Day. I was feeling a little bad because I did not have anything planned for him. On his birthday morning we woke him up by singing happy birthday to him and giving him his gifts. I treated him to lunch at Chuck E Cheese. It was awesome. We were the only people in the restaurant the entire time we were there. I bought a small cake and Chucke E came and song Happy Birthday to him and hung out with us for a while. It was great, It was like he had a private party with Chuck. I am sure this is a birthday he will never forget.

Bittersweet
Wow, today was very bittersweet for me. My mother called me at work this afternoon and told me that her brother, my uncle Carl, had passed away. I felt a a lump in my throat and tried so hard to hold back tears as I remembered my uncle. I went to the restroom for about 15 minutes and I just cried as I thought about all of the good times that I shared with him.
A couple of hours after receiving the news about Uncle Carl, I was celebrating the birth of Mr Liam Peterson at work. He is a beautiful baby boy of my coworker. I almost shed a tear when I held Liam because he represented new life and an answered prayer because God truly blessed Kelly with an uneventful labor and a healthy baby boy.

Give Thanks!!!!!
Thanksgiving weekend 2010 was relaxing. Even though Elijah and I were both off, we decided to stay at home. I cooked. Can you believe it? I actually cooked. Our meal consisted of Fried turkey, ham, cornbread dressing, cabbage, corn bread muffins, sweet potato pie and pecan pie. It was actually pretty good. I didn't have to throw anything out. I posted a picture of Elijah's plate, and Daniel and Elijah resting after eating.
On Saturday morning, Elijah put up the Christmas tree and the kids decorated the Christmas tree. It was soo much fun. Daniel is really into Christmas this year. He is feeling really special because his birthday is in the same month as Jesus birthday.
Although we had a relaxing weekend we really did miss our family and friends in Louisiana. We can't wait to see everyone when we go to Uncle Montrell's graduation next month.

Pediatrix Casino Party
We didn't dance a lot this year. We did a lot of people watching. We asked to dj to play the wobble, but he didn't :-(. So I was pretty bummed . The highlight of the night was watching Jen and Sherry dance with the very cute 70 year old granny. Sherry was actually trying to teach granny how to get low.
This is the first year we actually won something. We won a portable dvd player (we were very happy because ours just broke), and Jennifer won a paint ball gun (lol). There were two young girls sitting at out table and they won a $75 Victoria Secrets card. They were just hilarious to watch. They were like a drunk Romie and Michelle.

Halloween Weekend 2010
Halloween weekend 2010 was soo much fun. We had a great family weekend. On Friday, Elijah took the kids to the school carnival. On Saturday we carved pumpkins with the Wright's. Today we went to church, came home took a nap and then went trick or treating with Andrea, Sam, Candice and Christopher. Now I feel like a need a day off to recover from such a busy weekend.

Big Orange Pumpkin Farm
Today was an awesome family day. We went to church, the pumpkin farm and then had dinner at one of our favorite restaurants. The kids really enjoyed the pumpkin farm. They especially enjoyed feeding the animals and the hayride. I enjoyed taking pics of Elijah and the kids, and Elijah said that he just enjoyed hanging with his family. We are all exhausted after such a busy day. It is only 6:30 pm and we have already had our baths and now it is bedtime. Goodnite Everybody!!!! Sweet Dreams :-)

CHS Homecoming 2010
Last weekend my family went home for my high school homecoming. We really had a good time. It was great seeing old friends and classmates. I told my husband that I was a little sad that our kids would not experience Carroll. My high school graduating class had about 130 students. You basically knew all of your classmates and their family members. Most of us lived in the same community and went to church together. The senior classes in my town have eight to ten times as many students. I fear Alyssa and Daniel will just be a number when they make it to high school. At Carroll, the teacher not only knew you by name, but they also knew your parents and siblings. Of course, I always thought that was a bad thing when I was in school.
Alyssa and Daniel really enjoyed the band. Unfortunately I passed the no dancing and singing gene to them. Alyssa was quite impressed when I told her I was in the band.
Because of Carroll, I have several lifetime friends that are always there for me. They are truly the best group of girlfriends a girl could ever ask for.
Last week on facebook different classes were remembering their classmates that have passed away. I thought of David Conway. A true gentleman. I remember him going out of his way to walk me and Latoya home from band practice at nite my freshman year. I also thought of Ya-Ya and Marcus Davis.
I am so blessed to have experienced Carroll High School, the Booker T Community and Barlow street (the BEST street in the neighborhood). I am a product of my environment, and I am grateful for the wonderful and not so wonderful experiences. I can't wait to see everyone again at the 20 year reunion in 2 years. You all are the best and I thank facebook for bringing us all together.
Big Mike's Surprise Party

My brother Mike turns 40 this week, and we gave him a surprise party on Saturday. It was a success and he really enjoyed himself. I am really grateful for all of his friends and family who came out to support him. A special thanks to his lifetime friend Detrick and his CHS classmates. I can't wait to celebrate Al's 40th next year.

Well, she really enjoyed her party, and she absolutely loved all of her gifts. Her favorite gifts were her American Girl "just like me" doll and her light up twinkle toes skechers.
